Data
Package
Data Package
Each Data and Information Package has
the seismic and well data available for the sector offered
for Brasil Round 9.
For Santos, Pernambuco-Paraíba
and Campos basins, the data package also includes petroleum
potential reports made through agreement between public
universities and ANP.
For Parnaíba basin onshore, the gravimetric and magnetometric
raw and processed data, will be available;
While to Pernambuco-Paraiba and Rio do Peixe basins, will
be also available, respectively, informations about piston
core and geochemical survey and their related geochemical
report.
General Information CD
The CD is divided into 2 sections and contains general information
about the basins and the data package. The section “Package
Information” contains a text with detais about the
Data Package organization and its contents.
The section “Basin Information” includes the
geological summaries, exploration history and general information
on the location and petroleum system of all the basins and
sectors included in this Round. There are also gravimetric
and magnetometric maps, stratigraphic charts, structural
framework and geological cross-sections of the basin are
also available.
DVD Content
- Well Data
Due the large of data amount to be included
in the packages, ANP decided to store the well data in DVD
media (4.7Gbytes).
The well selection was made using the
following criteria:
» Wells sited preferably
inside the block perimeter or, at least, around;
» Wells linked to seismic
line and/or with seismic reference (time x depth table);
» Wells with hydrocarbons
(HC) (included from oilfield discovery well to dry well
with gas/oil shows). A distribution with at least one well
per block was selected. In this criterion no wells located
in oilfields or development areas were selected;
» Dry wells without HC.
In blocks where none of the above criteria were matched,
preference was given to deeper wells;
» Wells located in producing
oilfields or those under development. Preference was given
to wells classified as oilfield discovery wells.
Well Data
There are five kinds of well data:
» General Well File (Arquivo
Geral de Poço - AGP, in Portuguese);
» Composite Logs;
» Geochemistry data;
» Well files;
» Well log curves.
The characteristics of each type of well data are described
below.
Seldom, the existing databases are incomplete. But, for
instance, AGP and the Well Files are complementary in many
aspects, an absent data in one of them may frequently be
found in other.
General Well File
The General Well File (Arquivo Geral de Poços –
AGP) is a digital database. It comprises, among other data,
coordinates, lithostratigraphy and chronostratigraphy, log
headers, time x depth tables, formation test results and
interpreted lithologies for each sampled depth in the well.
All this information has different origins, and can include
the well files. The degree of updating is quite diverse
according to the period or the region and the AGP is not
available for most of the recently drilled wells.
The AGP was retrieved in ASCII format, The AGP´s are
located in the folder “AGP_General well files”.
Composite
Logs
The composite logs generated for each well include the interpreted
lithology, hydrocarbon shows, lithostratigraphy and chronostratigraphy.
A set of curves was selected, including Caliper, GR, DT,
SP, RHOB, TTI and a resistivity curve, where these curves
are available in the database.
For some wells drilled recently, the composite logs were
scanned from paper copies provided by the operators.
The composite logs were created in PDF format files and
included in the folder “Perfil composto_Composite
logs”.
Well File
The well file comprise public reports relative to any single
well. This includes the cuttings' description (on site),
drilling and production reports. It also includes additional,
diverse laboratory analysis, such as tests on cores and
cuttings, fluids sampling, production tests and other reports
done after the actual drilling of the well. As in the other
databases, these files are not always complete. The majority
of these reports are available in Portuguese only, many
documents being handwritten.
The multiple files relative to each well file were converted
to a single PDF file. This PDF file has 3 level navigation:
GEO for Geology, PER for Drilling and PRO for Production.
The file is indexed by the title of the document. The well
files are included in the folder “Pastas de poço_well
files”.
Geochemistry data
Geochemistry analysis data is available for a large number
of wells and is included in the folder “Geoquímica_Geochemistry”,
in xls format.
Well Geochemical charts are also available,
not only in the sector, but also in the basin, however data
interpretation is Operators liability.
Log curves
Log curves data in LIS/DLIS format were retrieved from the
ANP’s databank (BDEP). The files were also recorded
in LAS format, with the exception of the recently drilled
wells.
The LAS curves were combined (spliced). When one kind of
curve (GR for example), from the same tool or even different
tools, is repeated over one interval, more than one curve
was generated.
The log curves are included in the folder “curvas
de perfil_well logs”.
Seismic
Data
Post-stack data has specially been made available. The seismic
data selection followed the criteria below:
» All processed 2D lines
digitally-stored on ANP’s Database for the onshore
sectors, were included;
» In round 9, aim at improve
value, are also available a 2D seismic survey reprocessed
in the Reconcavo basin onshore, beyound the 2D and 3D seismic
also available;
» A set of selected 2D
lines for the offshore sectors, to allow the companies to
develop a wider understanding about the geology and potential
of the areas under offer.
Besides the UTM coordinates in the SEGY file headers, separate files were provided on the CD with (UKOOA) extention, containing seismic line navigation.
