Offered Areas in Brasil Round 9
14 sectors will be bid in Brasil Round
9, amounting 73,078.70 square kilometers in high potential,
new frontiers and mature basins sectors. The offered areas
are contained in 9 (nine) sedimentary basins as follow:
Campos, Espírito Santo, Pará-Maranhão,
Parnaíba, Pernambuco-Paraíba, Potiguar, Recôncavo,
Rio do Peixe and Santos Basin.
271 (two hundred seventy one) blocks will be offered as
follow:
» 111 (one hundred eleven) blocks of high potential offshore areas, with special
efforts to natural gás production, looking for to
remain national reservoir and supply of increasing internal
demand of natural gas.
» 69 (sixty nine) blocks
in new frontier offshore areas, seeking the surge of new
prodution areas;
» 29 (twenty nine) blocks
in new frontier onshore area, to lure investiments to some
basins, where there is litlle or inexists exploratory strength,
which 10 blocks in Parnaíba Basin and 19 in Rio do
Peixe Basin;
» 62 (sixty two) blocks
in mature onshore areas, with the goal to offer opportunities
to medium and small companies, in densely exploited basins,
keeping the exploration and production activities in oil
and natural gas, where this activities carry out important
social and economic role.
