According to the Resolution nº 5 of CNPE (Conselho Nacional de Política Energética), the ANP started the geological studies to select the blocks to be offered in Brasil Round 9.

Areas in eight sedimentary basins are being evaluated for Brasil Round 9: Campos, Espírito Santo, Pará-Maranhão, Parnaíba, Pernambuco-Paraíba, Potiguar, Santos and Recôncavo.

Brasil Round 9 will follow the previous rounds model, including areas in mature, new frontier and high potential basins.

According to the directions proposed by our Legal Department we inform that Brasil Round 8 is suspended due to two legal decisions which are still “sub judice”.

Until the present moment there is no legal decision regarding this matter. All the acts that follow the moment of the interruption are suspended and the previous ones are undefined.

We inform that ANP is working on this case to restore and give continuity to the process.

As soon as we have any definition we will inform the procedures to be taken by the participants involved in Brasil Round 8.
