Offered Areas in Brasil Round 8
Brasil Round 8 will offer blocks in
14 sector, with almost 100 thousand km² in high potential,
new frontier and mature basins. The area in offers encloses
7 sedimentary basins: Barreirinhas, Espírito Santo,
Pará-Maranhão, Pelotas, Santos, Sergipe-Alagoas
and Tucano Sul.
Will be offer 284 block, being:
» 35 offshore high potential
blocks, at the objective to resetting the national reserves
and supply the increase of the internal demand;
» 153 block in offshore
new frontier basins, where there is technological barriers
to be surpassed, to make possible the sprouting of new producing
basins;
» 47 block in onshore new
frontier basins, to attract investment to regions with few
geological data;
» 49 blocks in onshore
mature basins, to make possible continuing the exploration
and production of oil and gas in regions where these activities
are very important economically.
