In
order to protect the environment,
the Federal Petroleum Agency (ANP),
Federal Environmental Agency (IBAMA)
and the Environmental State Agencies
(OEMAs) analyse all the areas prior
to decide their offer in licensing
rounds, as stated at the CNPE
Resolution nº 008/2003.
As a result of this work, guidelines
are published with the requirement
levels for the environmental licensing,
allowing the future concessionaire
to include the environmental variable
in exploration and production projects.
These guidelines are revised and updated
every round to keep track of the policies
evolution. The creation of new protected
areas, the evolution of ecosystem’s
knowledge, the exploration and production
technologies development and the social
and economic reality are dynamic factors
that directly influence the level
of requirement for the environmental
licensing of the offered blocks. Therefore,
it is very important to consult this
information, even for blocks that
have already been object of previous
rounds.
The guidelines also provide information
about the environmental licensing
process, such as procedures, legislation
and technical information about fishing,
fauna and flora, among others.
